The project focused on improving the availability of safe and secure parking for trucks along the E-15 motorway between Barcelona and Montpellier.
Across two projects, a logistics centre’s parking facilities were upgraded to the EU Gold-level standard for security and driver services, while the site was expanded with 505 secured parking spaces.
Project contribution
Over the past decade, several major European initiatives have supported sustainable transport, e-mobility and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
These projects contributed to the deployment of fast-charging networks, e-bus systems and studies examining the integration of e-mobility solutions across Europe.
Project contribution
Two EU-funded studies supported the planned expansion of Shannon Foynes Port in Ireland.
The first assessed the feasibility and cost of extending a 40-kilometre railway connection between the port and the Irish Rail Network. The objective was to enable the transfer of 84 million tonnes per kilometre to rail and reduce pressure on the road network.
The second study covered field surveys, environmental assessment, design, modelling and planning connected to the port company’s Vision 2041 master plan.
